Greek Butter Cookies (Koulourakia)

A traditional Greek butter cookie, perfect for dipping in coffee or tea.
16 Tbspbutter1 cupsugar1/2 cuporange juice3 cupsflour1 1/2 Tbspbaking powder1egg1 1/2 tspvanilla extract1/2 shotwhiskey1egg yolk1 Tbspwater1/4 cupsesame seeds- cookie sheet
Preheat your oven to
350 °F.

- sugar
Cream butter well, add sugar slowly
- whiskey
- vanilla extract
- orange juice
- egg
Add whiskey, vanilla extract, orange juice, and egg. Mix well.

- baking powder
Add flour and baking powder. Mix well.
Refrigerate dough for a couple hours.
Roll dough into ropes and shape into the letter S, placing on a cookie sheet.

Beat an egg yolk and add a little water. Brush the cookies with the egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake for
20 minutesor until golden brown.
